Ruppert Jones (Ruppert Sanderson Jones) was born on March 12, 1955 in Dallas, Texas. He made his Major League debut on August 1, 1976 for the Kansas City Royals. In 1977, his rookie year, he hit .263 with 24 home runs and 76 RBI. Jones played for the Kansas City Royals, Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers and California Angels over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Ruppert Jones's best season was 1979, when he slugged 21 home runs, stole 33 bases and knocked in 78 runs.
