Rupert Pate (Rupert George Pate) was born on September 6, 1917 in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Pate attended Wake Forest University. Pate made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Cardinals over the course of his 2 year career.
Most people believe that 1942 was Rupert Pate's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
