Roy Staiger (Roy Joseph Staiger) was born on January 6, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He made his Major League debut on September 12, 1975 for the New York Mets. In 1976, his rookie year, he hit .220 with 2 home runs and 26 RBI. Staiger played for the New York Mets and New York Yankees over the course of his 4 year career.
