Roy Campanella (Roy Campanella) was born on November 19, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on April 20, 1948 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1948, his rookie year, he hit .258 with 9 home runs and 45 RBI. Campanella played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 10 year career.

Most people believe that Roy Campanella's best season was 1953, when he slugged 41 home runs, hit for a .312 average and knocked in 142 runs.
