Born on July 12, 1943 in Willisville, Tennessee, Ron Willis (Ronald Earl Willis) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros and San Diego Padres over the course of his 5 year career. Willis broke into the bigs on September 20, 1966 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.67 ERA in 81 innings pitched in 1967, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ron Willis's best season was 1967, when he posted a 2.67 ERA and notched 10 saves.
