Roman Bentz (Roman Walter Bentz) was born on September 1, 1919 in Iron Ridge, Wisconsin. After going to high school at Horicon (WI), Bentz attended Tulane University. Bentz made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1946 with the New York Yankees. He played for the New York Yankees and San Francisco 49ers over the course of his 3 year career.
