Rod Gaspar (Rodney Earl Gaspar) was born on April 3, 1946 in Long Beach, California. He made his Major League debut on April 8, 1969 for the New York Mets. In 1969, his rookie year, he hit .228 with 1 home run and 14 RBI. Gaspar played for the New York Mets and San Diego Padres over the course of his 4 year career.
