Born on July 31, 1931 in Troy, New York, Rip Coleman (Walter Gary Coleman) played for the New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 5 year career. Coleman broke into the bigs on August 15, 1955 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 3.67 ERA in 88.1 innings pitched in 1956, his rookie year.
