Rick was a member of the famous "French Connection" Line in Buffalo alongside teammates Gilbert Perreault and Rene Robert. The Buffalo Sabres retired his number on Nov. 15, 1995, along with Rene Robert's No. 14 on a night which honored the entire French Connection Line.
