Born on June 29, 1954 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Rick Honeycutt (Frederick Wayne Honeycutt) played for the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 21 year career. Honeycutt broke into the bigs on August 24, 1977 with the Seattle Mariners, and put up a 4.89 ERA in 134.1 innings pitched in 1978, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Rick Honeycutt's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1983, when he posted a 3.03 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 74 batters. However, others believe that it was 1986, when he posted a 3.32 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 100 batters.
