Richard Sligh (Richard Ellis Sligh) was born on August 18, 1944 in Newberry, South Carolina. After going to high school at Gallman (Newberry, SC), Sligh attended North Carolina Central University. Sligh made his professional debut in the AFL in 1967 with the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Oakland Raiders for his entire 1 year career.
