Rich Houston (Richard Charles Houston) was born on November 16, 1945 in Texarkana, Texas. After going to high school at Dunbar (Texarkana, TX), Houston attended Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University-Commerce. Houston made his professional debut in the NFL in 1969 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1971 was Rich Houston's best year, as he caught 4 TD passes.
