Born on May 22, 1947 in Tucson, Arizona, Rich Hinton (Richard Michael Hinton) played for the Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds and Seattle Mariners over the course of his 6 year career. Hinton broke into the bigs on July 17, 1971 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 4.02 ERA in 80.2 innings pitched in 1978, his rookie year.
