Reds Bassman (Herman Bassman) was born on February 25, 1913 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Central (Philadelphia, PA), Bassman attended Ursinus College. Bassman made his professional debut in the NFL in 1936 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles for his entire 1 year career.
