Born on July 15, 1893 in Zion, Maryland, Red Oldham (John Cyrus Oldham) played for the Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 7 year career. Oldham broke into the bigs on August 19, 1914 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 2.81 ERA in 57.2 innings pitched in 1915, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Red Oldham's best season was 1922, when he posted a 4.67 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 72 batters.
