Ray Coleman (Raymond Leroy Coleman) was born on June 4, 1922 in Dunsmuir, California. He made his Major League debut on April 22, 1947 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1947, his rookie year, he hit .259 with 2 home runs and 30 RBI. Coleman played for the St. Louis Browns, Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that Ray Coleman's best season was 1951, when he hit for a .280 average and knocked in 76 runs.
