Randall Godfrey Should Have Hit Tom Brady Over and Over and Over Instead of Crying!

Well, it’s been 48 hours since the Patriots opened up a can on the Washington Redskins and all yesterday, all we heard were Redskins players crying about the way Peeping Tom handled the play calling by saying the following, which came from Randall Godfrey’s cake hole…

"I said something to (Belichick) after the game," Godfrey said to NBCSports.com. "I told him, 'You need to show some respect for the game.' You just don't do that. I don't care how bad it is. You're up 35 points and you're still throwing deep? That's no respect.... "You look at all the great head coaches ... I'm just disappointed," he said. "You gotta show some class, show some respect. Joe Gibbs? We wouldn't have done that. Bill Walsh? You wouldn't see those types of guys doing that stuff. I've never seen nothing like that. Most teams, you get up like that you sit on the ball and try to run the time out. They're up 30-some points and they're throwing deep. That was blatant disrespect. I hope we can see them again, definitely. You don't see Joe Gibbs doing that. You can't even imagine that kind of stuff coming from him. Joe Gibbs. Bill Walsh. Bill Parcells. This isn't like college going for power rankings. This is the pros you show some respect, show some class."

So Bill Belichick is an asshole…There’s a news flash! I got another news flash…My great coaches are assholes! And like or not Bill falls into this category. Um, Randell, you play defense, right? You play professional football, right? Being a defensive player in the NFL is your job description, right? Well here’s a wild thought…Why don’t you do it a little better than you did on Sunday? Maybe then you wouldn’t feel like the score got ran up! Although I got to give you some props…You’re right, this isn’t college. Which means I only feel sympathetic for those teams who know going into the game are going to get lambasted. True, we all knew on Sunday the game had a good chance to get out of hand, but don’t be whining about it…“Oh please, make the bad man in the hoodie stop!”

What was Belichick suppose to do…Kick field goals on fourth down up 38-0? Would that have made you happy? I doubt it…You would still be pissing and moaning! No where in the NFL by-laws does it say a coach has to call off the dogs! Now true, we don’t see Joe Gibbs doing that…Then again, Joe’s not an asshole. Perhaps just maybe that’s why he hasn’t done anything in the league the second go around? That topic is for a different time and place!

Getting back to being a defensive player in the NFL…Randell, isn’t it your job to hit players? So if you guys couldn’t stop the Patriots, which we all saw you couldn’t do, (but don’t feel bad, nobody has this season) and you thought Belichick was being bush league about it, why didn’t you and your mates decide to play that bush league game too? Look, I don’t know about you, but I be damned if somebody was making me look like a fool…Especially when that somebody is Tom Brady up 38-0. Did it ever dawn on you guys to hit Tom Brady with everything you had even if it was late and take the penalty and utter words to him something of the realm of, “It would be in your best interest Golden Boy to not play the rest of the game…Because if you do, you will get hurt! That’s no lie!” Now, that’s sending a message….Not this 4-year old bull shit, “Oh, he’s not playing right!” Sure a penalty(s) would follow…Boo hoo, it’s not like you were going to win anyway! And you keep doing this until all of Boston got the message loud and clear…“You better take Brady out if you know what’s good for him and the team!” “Otherwise those Super Bowl dreams are going to fall into the hands of Matt Cassell!”

Harsh yeah, but we know Coach Hoodie doesn’t play by the rules…So why should opponents? Especially when they have a bone to pick! Although I’m not the only cat who felt like Godfrey should’ve took matters into his own hands, but that's what Michael Wilbon of the Washington Post seems to think as well…Coincidence that we’re both from Chicago? Hmmmm? In the following chat at the Post’s web site, MW spit this…

Tom Brady's Knee: I can understand Bill Belichick's desire to crush every team in the NFL, but why keep your franchise QB in there to do it? One cheap shot helmet to the knee and it's goodbye Super Bowl unless Cassell suddenly gets good.

Michael Wilbon: You're absolutely right. And if I was on the opposing team, I'd hit Tom Brady with everything I had as late as I could and take the penalty and join the fight that would surely follow. Football is a violent game and there's got to be somebody out there sharpening his fangs for the Patriots Golden Boy in the 4th quarter one of these weeks. F-ing A right…That’s how we roll in Chi!

Godfrey was in a position to do something Sunday…Had opportunities to show his displeasures, but decided to pass like Tom Brady was up 38-0. Now because he didn’t have the grapes to do anything…Didn’t have enough pride to stand up for himself and his teammates, now he can only hope “we can see them again, definitely.” Guess he has heard of the saying, “You only get one time to make a first impression.” And that impression was nothing than a four-year old crying to his mommy!

Vote in LastRowSports.com latest Pick’em Poll which asks about "BeanTown's Best?". We can’t guarantee that it will be more enjoyable than watching "Charlie Brown’s Great Pumpkin", but we are 100 percent confident that it will be more amusing than watching the Dolphins and Giants in England…Or better yet…The World Series!

I agree totally. If you can't stop a 3rd String QB from Scoring on you, you deserve to have the score run up on you

Probably around 88% (including me). The only ones that probably aren't are Patriots fans and AFC South fans.

Personally, if my team is losing big to the Patriots (which I'm sure they will later this season), I want us to blitz on every down. If the Pats are going to keep their stars in there when it's already decided, I want them to pay in some way. It's a little bit of Remember the Titans: "You blitz all night!"

Agreed. I wonder how loud PatNation will scream in protest when wunderboy Brady gets dropped unconscious on his head by a practice squad Neanderthal on a team with nothing to lose but a 15 yard penalty.

I would like my team to blitz Brady heavily but I think taking a cheap shot at a guy is wrong. You dont go after someones knees, that can ruin a players career. Thats a really pathetic way to play, if you want to send a message how about stopping the Pats?

If these guys on teams trounced by the Patriots REALLY feel slighted by the alleged "running up the score" ploy, then it will inevitably build up to a cheap shot scenario.

While I don't agree with trying to injure the guy (my advocating a late hit doesn't mean I advocate a DIRTY late hit), I agree with Tyrone that you have to send a message. Clearly the Redskins sucked. The Pats proved that they dominated them, but they had to dominate them some more. It was just as pathetic as if an MLB team left in their starters with a 10 run lead.

I just dont understand the mentality behind complaining about the score being run up. You are a professional and every team is on an even playing field, it is in your hands to keep your self respect and not get blown out.

Hey, I know what you are saying. Really I do. But remember, this is football and whoever accused some of these players to think rationally on the field? Rep is everything in the NFL. Whether the Patriots like it or not, resentment is growing out there in the jungle. And we all know how the jungle dishes out "retribution" when wrongdoing is perceived.

If Belichick is really the genius that so many believe, he already knows the growing beating of this particular drum.

There is such thing as a concept of being "dead right". I doubt Belichick is willing to pay that type of price at the expense of possibly losing one of his key players. And for that reason, I would not be surprised that he calls off his dogs during the next drubbing.

No you play the game till it is over. Plain and simple, freiken Matt Cassel ran for a touchdown and made it look easy, that just means it must have been super easy for Brady and the stars. It is one thing to run the score up, but the way to get back at a team for doing it is not to take a cheap shot at a player who is one of the best in the NFL. The way to get back at them is dont forget it and kick the crap out of them next time on the scoreboar. And quite all this winning and crying.

C'mon it may be against the rules to take a cheap shot, and it may be a bit morbid to hope for another person to get seriously injured, and you may sound like a whining cry-baby for complaining, but boy are those things classy!

I don't think I saw anyone on here advocating injury. And I don't think it's a contradiction to say that one classless act ought to be met by another. It happens all the time in sports. It's kind of the way it's played. Beanball wars in baseball, retaliation hits in hockey and football...happens all the time.

Michael Wilbon said that this is the pros, and if you want a team to stop scoring, then stop them from scoring. I'd take it a step further. If the Pats are going to take off the gloves, then you should, too. Hit the QB, even if you have to hit him late. Show supergenious Bellichick what can happen when you leave your QB in there just to run up the score. Show Bellichick what can happen when you put your QB out there for a fourth down play instead of going for the field goal. Show the NFL exactly what the risk is that you run by pulling that kind of showboat crap.

Better yet, put a car bomb on Brady's SUV, so when he starts it in the morning to go to the game, BOOM! That will show Belichick not to score a lot of points.

Yeah, murder is roughly the same as committing a 15 yard penalty in a football game. This has nothing to do with scoring lots of points. Everyone likes teams that score lots of points. That's why people stupidly put the 2000 St. Louis Rams among the best teams of all-time, even though they were quite one-dimensional. This is about showing up your opponents so that you can stroke your ego. What they did on Sunday had nothing to do with scoring a lot of points. What they did was roughly the same as a guy in baseball hitting a home run, flipping the bat, and pointing and yelling at the pitcher before doing cartwheels down to first base. I'd expect that guy to get a brushback pitch in his next at-bat. That's what I'm advocating against the Patriots.

I mentioned this and feel like a visionary, a day before Wilbon did! Boston fans did not like my idea. But its obvious and its coming. I see shots taken at Brady as a cause and effect thing.
