Ralph Waldsmith (Ralph George Waldsmith) was born on August 7, 1892 in Akron, Ohio. After going to high school at Central (Akron, OH), Waldsmith attended the University of Akron. Waldsmith made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Cleveland Tigers. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Cleveland Tigers the entire time. Waldsmith also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Canton Bulldogs the entire time.
