R.C. Owens (Raleigh C. Owens) was born on November 12, 1934 in Shreveport, Louisiana. After going to high school at Santa Monica (CA), Owens attended Albertson College of Idaho. Owens made his professional debut in the NFL in 1957 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Colts and New York Giants over the course of his 8 year career.
Most people believe that 1961 was R.C. Owens's best year, as he hauled in 55 receptions, had 1032 receiving yards and caught 5 TD passes.
