Pug Rentner (Ernest J. Rentner) was born on September 18, 1910 in Joliet, Illinois. After going to high school at Farragut (Joliet, IL), Rentner attended Northwestern University. Rentner made his professional debut in the NFL in 1934 with the Boston Redskins. He played for the Boston Redskins and Chicago Bears over the course of his 4 year career.
Most people believe that 1936 was Pug Rentner's best year.
