Pop Schriver (William Frederick Schriver) was born on July 11, 1865 in Brooklyn, New York. He made his Major League debut on April 29, 1886 for the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers. In 1888, his rookie year, he hit .194 with 1 home run and 23 RBI. Schriver played for the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Colts, New York Giants, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 14 year career.

Most people believe that Pop Schriver's best season was 1894, when he hit for a .275 average.
