Pop Foster (Clarence Francis Foster) was born on April 8, 1878 in New Haven, Connecticut. He made his Major League debut on September 13, 1898 for the New York Giants. In 1899, his rookie year, he hit .296 with 3 home runs and 57 RBI. Foster played for the New York Giants, Washington Senators and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that Pop Foster's best season was 1901, when he hit for a .279 average and knocked in 60 runs.
