Phil Marshall (Philip Pence Marshall) was born on March 28, 1895 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Peabody (Pittsburgh, PA), Marshall attended Carnegie Mellon Univeristy. Marshall made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Cleveland Tigers. He played for the Cleveland Tigers for his entire 1 year career.
