Born on April 10, 1946 in Jasper, Texas, Phil Hennigan (Phillip Winston Hennigan) played for the Cleveland Indians and New York Mets over the course of his 5 year career. Hennigan broke into the bigs on September 2, 1969 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 4.02 ERA in 71.2 innings pitched in 1970, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Phil Hennigan's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1971, when he posted a 4.94 ERA, notched 14 saves and struck out 69 batters. However, others believe that it was 1972, when he posted a 2.67 ERA.
