Phil Forney (Phillip L. Forney) was born on September 18, 1963 in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. After going to high school at Central (Rutherfordton, NC), Forney attended East Tennessee State University. Forney made his professional debut in the NFL in 1987 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 1 year career.
