Pete Sommers (Joseph Andrews Sommers) was born on October 26, 1866 in Cleveland, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on April 27, 1887 for the New York Metropolitans. Sommers played for the New York Metropolitans, Boston Beaneaters, Indianapolis Hoosiers, Chicago White Stockings, New York Giants and Cleveland Spiders over the course of his 4 year career.
