[edit] Biography

Born on October 29, 1939 in Floral Park, New York, Pete Richert (Peter Gerard Richert) played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Senators, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 13 year career. Richert broke into the bigs on April 12, 1962 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and put up a 3.87 ERA in 81.1 innings pitched in 1962, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Pete Richert's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1966, when he posted a 3.37 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 195 batters. However, others believe that it was 1965, when he posted a 2.60 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 161 batters.
