I'm a little late getting the weekly ramblings out, but its way before the games next week so its okay. I have a Vocabulary Test in school, so I'll include some of them in this ramblings edition numero tres.
10. Walt Harris must ameliorate the poor play of his football team. Losing to Navy at home for the debut of the new Stanford Stadium really hurts. I mean c'mon they gotta improve or Harris may not be the coach that much longer.
9. The Los Angels Times reported that during UCLA's bye week, the Bruins were fine-tuning various aspects of their offense. I wonder if Karl Dorrell really understands what he is suppose to be doing.
8. Before the year, I was thinking that the USC-Arizona game would be a trap game, but the way the Cats are playing, I'm beginning to doubt that. They struggled to beat 1-AA Stephan F. Aystin, 28-10. Stephan F. Austin is worse than Temple.
7. Arizona State has sure loaded up some creampuffs early on, Colorado, Nevada, and Northern Arizona. While they are 3-0, the Devils haven't won convincenly in any of those games.
6. I don't wish to hear how, the refs blew this game. Dennis Dixon showed great aplomb in the final minutes of the Oregon-Oklahoma game.
5. Sometimes I wish College Football had trades. USC has too many running backs. Too much for their own good. Their offensive line didn't create a lot of holes for the backs. The Men of Troy could use a few more of the big guys. Emmanual Moody can play too.
4. I can't understand Washington. One week they struggle against San Jose State and Fresno State. They play well in the first half against OU than fade. They are inconsistant as can be. Its a reflection upon the head coach.
3. There is a huge game on Saturday as Arizona State visits Cal. The Golden Bears have really improved since there lose to Tennessee, especially QB Nate Longshore. He's thrown six TD's in his last two games. This race will knock one of these teams out of the Pac 10 race. For those who think the College Football needs a playoff, look at this game as a round one contest.
2. USC was fortunate against the Huskers. The game could have easily been 50-10, but it also could've been 28-24. Nebraska did not play that well, and USC appeared a little rusty. John David Booty missed his receivers a few times, but thats just a rhythem he lost over the bye-week.
1. Oregon is extremely lucky. Lucky! The refs had to have been pressured by the crowd at Autzen. However, the Sooner fans can complain all they want. Oklahoma should have won the ball-game, but not because of the refs. They had their final FG blocked. You gotta be money in the clutch.
0. As you can see, that Vocab thing didn't go over so well.
P.S. I was at the USC-Nebraska game and we were wondering (not a joke) why do Husker fans eat corn before the game? Are they mocking themselves? Or, is it tradition?
