Owen Friend (Owen Lacey Friend) was born on March 21, 1927 in Granite City, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on October 2, 1949 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1950, his rookie year, he hit .237 with 8 home runs and 50 RBI. Friend played for the St. Louis Browns, Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 4 year career.
Most people believe that Owen Friend's best season was 1950, when he knocked in 50 runs.
