Nick Punto (Nicholas Paul Punto) was born on November 8, 1977 in San Diego, California. He made his Major League debut on September 9, 2001 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 2005, his rookie year, he hit .239 with 4 home runs and 26 RBI. Punto played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Nick Punto's best season was 2006, when he hit for a .290 average.

  • His father, Lou, was drafted by the Boston Red Sox.
  • Punto is one of four Twins players nicknamed "The Piranhas" by White Sox manager, Ozzie Guillen. The Twins have embraced the term. The other Piranhas were Jason Tyner, Jason Bartlett, and Luis Castillo.
    • Punto is the only one of these four players who remains with the Twins.
