[edit] History

In 2007-8, the Patriots became the only the second team (the 1972 Miami Dolphins being the other) to finish the regular season undefeated. However, they lost to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII, finishing 18-1.

Ironically, the Patriots filed a U.S. Trademark application for "19-0" and "19-0 The Perfect Season" going into the AFC Champtionship Game versus the San Diego Chargers[1], forevermore cursing the franchise.
