Born on September 30, 1884 in Crabapple, Georgia, Nap Rucker (George Rucker) played for the Brooklyn Superbas for his entire 10 year career. Rucker broke into the bigs on April 15, 1907 with the Brooklyn Superbas, and put up a 2.06 ERA in 275.1 innings pitched in 1907, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Nap Rucker's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1911, when he posted a 2.71 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 190 batters. However, others believe that it was 1908, when he posted a 2.08 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 199 batters.
