NFL Preview Show Extravaganza: The Detroit Lions

Today we get to discuss a team that has been so comedic in past years, its just sad. That's right I'm talking about the Detroit Lions. I don't know why this year should be any different.

The Lions, led by second year coach, Rod Marinelli, finished in last place, with a 3-13 season. They drafed WR, Calvin Johnson with their first round pick.

They will be facing such teams as the Raiders, the Eagles, the Giants and the Chiefs.

On with ye' burning questions (Yearbook style):

1. Jon Kitna's prediction of 10 wins is: The funniest thing I've heard all day
2. Is Kitna right: No. Is he ever right: Not in my eyes
3. Biggest weakness for the Lions: Ehhhh the defense and the running game
4. Calvin Johnson will: Have the most rookie offensive touchdowns this season
5. Who is the best WR this year: Roy Williams (Mike Furrey because he's on my Fantasy team)
6. When people think of Matt Millen they think of: A smart football guy stuck with a terrible team
7. The offense will: Do ok (at least they don't have Mike Williams dropping passes)
8. Kiss song that best represents team: N/A (Hey they are not worthy of Detriot Rock City)
9. The fans will: Still be disappointed
10. In 2007, the Lions will: Still stink, finish in last, go 5-11

Wait...Detroit still has a team? Calvin Johnson was lost into the abyss, as did the Lions...unless, of course, your a fantasy owner, where you should consider Jon Kitna as your 6th or 7th best QB

lol if your league gives points for receptions or being targeted, Mike Furrey would be a good bet too, #2 in the league last year in grabs. Other than the WRs, is there anything truly worth salvaging off this scrap heap of a franchise?

I've been trying to wrap my head around Kitna's idiotic prediction, and I think I've got the answer: he said they'd get "10 wins", but I don't recall him specifying that they were necessarily either regular season or non-scrimmage wins. I think they've already started bringing in local high school teams to play in practice, and I hear they've gotten to 5 wins already! Go Lions!

The biggest weakness is. . . two things. How can it be the biggest when you have two of them?

Scratch that. I understand now. Does Detroit have any strengths? The corners are young. The safeties are aging. The LBs are prone to injury and the DL is overpaid and inconsistent. The OL is a joke. The RBs are a huge question. Will they be healthy? If Tatum Bell can't block or catch, why is he in a Martz offense? Can Duckett play? What's with Jones' foot?

Sheesh, what a disaster.

they need more rebuliding whens the last time they helped their defense out it seems that they always use their 1st round pick on a offensive player
