Born on October 16, 1881 in Metropolis, Illinois, Moxie Manuel (Mark Garfield Manuel) played for the Washington Senators and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 2 year career. Manuel broke into the bigs on September 25, 1905 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 3.28 ERA in 60.1 innings pitched in 1908, his rookie year.
