Born on June 15, 1906 in Helton, North Carolina, Monte Weaver (Montie Morton Weaver) played for the Washington Senators and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 9 year career. Weaver broke into the bigs on September 20, 1931 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 4.08 ERA in 234 innings pitched in 1932, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Monte Weaver's best season was 1932, when he posted a 4.08 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 83 batters.
