Born on November 17, 1964 in Santa Ana, California, Mitch Williams (Mitchell Steven Williams) played for the Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros, California Angels and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 11 year career. Williams broke into the bigs on April 9, 1986 with the Texas Rangers, and put up a 3.58 ERA in 98 innings pitched in 1986, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mitch Williams's best season was 1991, when he posted a 2.34 ERA, won 12 games, notched 30 saves and struck out 84 batters.
