Mike Sommer (Michael Sandor Sommer) was born on October 9, 1934 in Washington, District Of Columbia. After going to high school at Woodrow Wilson (Washington, DC), Sommer attended George Washington University. Sommer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1958 with the Washington Redskins. He played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Colts over the course of his 3 year NFL career.Sommer also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Oakland Raiders the entire time.

Most people believe that 1963 was Mike Sommer's best year.
