Mike Pearson (Michael Wayne Pearson) was born on August 2, 1980 in Tampa, Florida. After going to high school at Armwood (Seffner, FL), Pearson attended the University of Florida. Pearson made his professional debut in the NFL in 2002 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans over the course of his 5 year NFL career.

Acquired:

Signed with Toronto as a free agent on June 12, 2007.

2007:

Toronto Argonauts

Pearson played his first CFL season in 2007, starting nine games.

2006:

Houston Texans
Miami Dolphins

Signed as a free agent with the Miami Dolphins (NFL) on May 1…Attended training camp with the Dolphins before being waived on September 2…Signed with the Houston Texans on November 14, before being released on December 2.

2002-2005:

Jacksonville Jaguars

2005:

Played in four games for Jacksonville, starting two…Released by the Jaguars.

2004:

Started first four games of the season before injuring his left knee against the Indianapolis Colts on October 3…Had streak of 31 consecutive starts and 36 consecutive games played before being placed on injured reserve on October 5.

2003:

Started all 16 games for the Jaguars at left tackle…Was a member of an offensive line that allowed the fewest sacks in team history with 28.

2002:

Drafted in the second round (40th overall) of the NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL)…Played in all 16 games for the Jaguars, starting the final 11 games of the season…Took over at left tackle in Week 6 after an injury sidelined Maurice Williams...Made first career NFL start on October 20 at Baltimore and played the entire game.

Kynes Ironman Award…Played in 10 of Florida’s 12 games, starting eight at left tackle in 1999…Redshirted as a freshman in 1998.

Personal:

Mike and his wife Melissa reside in Seffner, Florida, with their 6-week old son named Maclean Michael. Mike is involved in his local church and is the former president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. While in Jacksonville, he hosted a Jaguars charity skeet shooting event. His favorite book is “The Old Man and the Sea”.
