Mike Gaechter (Michael Theodore Gaechter) was born on January 9, 1940 in Santa Monica, California. After going to high school at Antelope Valley (Lancaster, CA), Gaechter attended the University of Oregon. Gaechter made his professional debut in the NFL in 1962 with the Dallas Cowboys. He played for the Dallas Cowboys for his entire 8 year career.
Most people believe that 1962 was Mike Gaechter's best year, as he picked off 5 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
