[edit] Biography

Born on October 9, 1912 in Lenzberg, Illinois, Mickey Haefner (Milton Arnold Haefner) played for the Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox and Boston Braves over the course of his 8 year career. Haefner broke into the bigs on April 22, 1943 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 2.29 ERA in 165.1 innings pitched in 1943, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Mickey Haefner's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1945, when he posted a 3.47 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 83 batters. However, others believe that it was 1943, when he posted a 2.29 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 65 batters.
