• George Brett hits his 300th homerun off of Mark Clark in a game in which the Kansas City Royals beat the Cleveland Indians, 7-3. Brett is just the 6th player in major league history to have at least 300 home runs and 3000 hits.

• Jon Lieber of the Philadelphia Phillies has his perfect game broken up by a 7th inning single off the bat of Adam Dunn. Lieber allowed just two hits over 8.2 IP to beat the Cincinnati Reds, 2-0. Lieber's ERA dropped more than a run after the game, going from 6.60 to 5.50
