Born on October 14, 1915 in Pensacola, Florida, Max Macon (Max Cullen Macon) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Dodgers and Boston Braves over the course of his 6 year career. Macon broke into the bigs on April 21, 1938 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 4.11 ERA in 129.1 innings pitched in 1938, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Max Macon's best season was 1942, when he posted a 1.93 ERA.
