Matt Nokes (Matthew Dodge Nokes) was born on October 31, 1963 in San Diego, California. He made his Major League debut on September 3, 1985 for the San Francisco Giants. In 1987, his rookie year, he hit .289 with 32 home runs and 87 RBI. Nokes played for the San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Matt Nokes's best season was 1987, when he slugged 32 home runs, hit for a .289 average and knocked in 87 runs.
