[edit] High school career
Moore attended William S. Hart High School in Newhall, California, where he lettered twice at quarterback and defensive back, and led Hart to the state championship in his senior year.[1]
[edit] College career
He started his college football career at UCLA in 2002 and transferred to College of the Canyons and then to Oregon State in 2004.[1] That same year, he was drafted by the Anaheim Angels in the 22nd round of the Major League Baseball Draft.[2]
[edit] 2006-07 season
After a 2-3 start, Moore and coach Mike Riley received a great deal of criticism from fans. Both found redemption after winning the next 8 of 9 games. This streak included a win over #3 ranked USC and a Civil War win at home, and finished off with a come from behind win at the Sun Bowl against Missouri. Moore was named the C.M. Hendricks Most Valuable Player after the Beavers won 39-38 on a gutsy two-point conversion with 22 seconds left to play, and set the Sun Bowl record for passing touchdowns at 4.[3] He ended his career with the school record for consecutive passes without an interception at 183.[4]
[edit] NFL career
Moore was not selected in the 2007 NFL Draft, but was signed as a free agent by the Dallas Cowboys.[5]
Matt was cut by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2007 pre-season and was signed by the Carolina Panthers, and started (and won) his first game against the Seattle Seahawks, December 16th, 2007.
