Born on July 3, 1955 in Pomona, California, Matt Keough (Matthew Lon Keough) played for the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 9 year career. Keough broke into the bigs on September 3, 1977 with the Oakland Athletics, and put up a 3.24 ERA in 197.1 innings pitched in 1978, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Matt Keough's best season was 1980, when he posted a 2.92 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 121 batters.
