Marty Lyons (Martin A. Lyons) was born on January 15, 1957 in Tacoma Park, Maryland. After going to high school at Catholic (St. Petersburg, FL), Lyons attended the University of Alabama. Lyons made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the New York Jets. He played for the New York Jets for his entire 11 year career.
Most people believe that 1988 was Marty Lyons's best year, as he recorded 7.5 sacks.
