Born on April 7, 1971 in Russellville, Kentucky, Mark Thompson (Mark Radford Thompson) played for the Colorado Rockies and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 7 year career. Thompson broke into the bigs on July 26, 1994 with the Colorado Rockies, and put up a 6.53 ERA in 51 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mark Thompson's best season was 1996, when he struck out 99 batters.
