[edit] Biography

Born on August 20, 1960 in San Diego, California, Mark Langston (Mark Edward Langston) played for the Seattle Mariners, Montreal Expos, California Angels, Anaheim Angels, San Diego Padres and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 16 year career. Langston broke into the bigs on April 7, 1984 with the Seattle Mariners, and put up a 3.40 ERA in 225 innings pitched in 1984, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Mark Langston's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1987, when he posted a 3.84 ERA, won 19 games and struck out 262 batters. However, others believe that it was 1989, when he posted a 2.74 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 235 batters.
