Born on August 14, 1954 in Worcester, Massachusetts, Mark Fidrych (Mark Steven Fidrych) played for the Detroit Tigers for his entire 5 year career. Fidrych broke into the bigs on April 20, 1976 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 2.34 ERA in 250.1 innings pitched in 1976, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Mark Fidrych's best season was 1976, when he posted a 2.34 ERA, won 19 games and struck out 97 batters.
