Born on July 19, 1914 in Brooklyn, New York, Marius Russo (Marius Ugo Russo) played for the New York Yankees for his entire 6 year career. Russo broke into the bigs on June 6, 1939 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 2.41 ERA in 116 innings pitched in 1939, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Marius Russo's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1941, when he posted a 3.09 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 105 batters. However, others believe that it was 1940, when he posted a 3.28 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 87 batters.
